It comprises 12 members and 9 associated institutions. The three main universities in this center are: Claude Bernard University Lyon 1, which focuses upon health and science studies and has approximately 27,000 students; Lumière University Lyon 2, which focuses upon the social sciences and arts, and has about 30,000 students; Jean Moulin University Lyon 3, which focuses upon the law and humanities with about 20,000 students.

Located in Arcavacata, a hamlet of Rende and a suburb of Cosenza, the university was founded in 1972. NIT PuducherryNational Institute of Technology Puducherry (NIT Puducherry or NITPY) is an autonomous public technical and research university located in the city of Karaikal in Union Territory of Puducherry and is a coastal enclave in the basin of river Kaveri within the Nagapattinam District of Tamil Nadu. Founded and Established in 2010, it is one among the 31 National institutes of Technology of India and is declared as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India under National Institutes of Technology, Science Education and Research Act, 2007.
NIT NagalandNational Institute of Technology Nagaland (NIT Nagaland or NITN) is a higher education technology institute located in Chümoukedima, Nagaland, India. It is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India. NIT Nagaland was set up by the Government of India in 2009, as part of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan (2007–2012) for imparting technical education in the state of Nagaland. NIT Silchar has provided initial mentorship to NIT Nagaland for the initial two years of its establishment.

Punjab Technical UniversityI.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) was established by an Act of State Legislature on 16th January, 1997, to promote technical, management and pharmaceutical education in the state at degree level and above. It was established as Punjab Technical University and renamed as I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University by State Government in the honor to Late Sh. Inder Kumar Gujral, Former Prime Minister of India, in 2015.
